Dominik Nitsche, The 888poker Ambassador Wins Biggest Score Of Career At WSOPE

Earlier this week, 888poker Ambassador Dominik Nitsche raced to the top of a star-studded field of 88 unique entrants, who made 44 re-entries between them, in the €111,111 High Roller for One Drop event at the 2017 World Series of Poker Europe festival.

This latest win was Nitsche’s fourth in a WSOP event, meaning Nitsche now has four WSOP bracelets to his name. The talented German’s previous three bracelets came from wins in $1,000 no-limit hold’em events, so the €111,111 buy-in here made it extra special for Nitsche, as did the monster-sized €3,487,463 he took home as a prize.

Global Poker Index ratings

As per the latest global poker index, Bryn Kenney has the lead in both overall as well as POY ratings.


His rankings have moved up to the number one position for GPI overall ratings as well as in the race of being 2017 Player of the Year. After success at the PokerStars Barcelona championship event, Bart Lybaert, Stephen Chidwick and Bryn Kenney have gained high positions in the overall rankings. The Global Poker Index is released every week and it showcases the current top poker players in live tournaments. For the rankings the results of players are considered over half year periods taken consecutively six times.

The entire list comes on the GPI official website and the rankings can be found in the last publication that was done on August 23rd. Bryn Kenney gained the title of Player of the Year for the 2017 Global Poker Index for the first half of 2017; this has come about since he remained at the top for 21 weeks consecutively; Nick Petrangelo took the lead in July however, and Dario Sammartino then moved on to claim the number one spot which he has maintained for the past five weeks. Hectic Action At Venetian Poker Room

The Deep Stacks Extravaganza has started at the Venetian Poker Room.


This summer series this year will be held from May to July. The Deep Stacks III is considered to be one of the most important series and is as important or next to the World Series of Poker. The summer schedule of the Deep Stacks Extravaganza will see more than 110 tournaments. The event will also see a total prize pool of $21 million guaranteed amount.

The tournament has kick-started on May 15th and will go on inside the Venetian Poker Room till the July 23. The tournament will be held in a wide range of formats that includes multi-day, single-day and bounties events. Some of the popular game options like limit Omaha, pot-limit Omaha and no-limit hold’em will be featured during the course of the tournament.

The Venetian Poker Room is geared for the event and is looking forward to making it a huge success. They are treating the event as more than just a poker game. Lesniak Announces To Fight Governor Election

Sen. Ray Lesniak filed a paperwork at New Jersey State Election Law Enforcement Commission to fight election for the post of Governor. Mr. Lesniak is the man who made all the effort for the legalization of online poker in New Jersey’s 2013.


According to NJ.com reports, Ray said, he is willing to replace outgoing Governor Chris Christie.

Mr. Lesniak said “This is a difficult battle, but I am not going to leave it, I believe that support of the people is with me, the recent election has shown that, one can go directly to the people and ask for vote if they have good reason to stand for.” Mr. Lesiak has not the only one contesting this election, but there are more than 12 people have filled the paper to contest the election of governor. PokerStars has been expanding its presence in different countries.


Being a successful online gaming venture by Amaya Gaming, PokerStars has been hitting the right buttons with licensing authorities in different countries. Its present focus is extending its presence in different countries in Europe. It should not come as a surprise that rival sites are following suit as well.
